Rus Ackner has been a racing fan for as long as he can remember. He grew up racing motocross, did some street racing he'd rather not put dates on, and drove anything with four wheels that went fast. Originally a NASCAR fan (his uncle, having been a huge influence, worked in the pits for open-wheel teams, then NASCAR), after he caught the sports car bug at his first 12 Hours of Sebring, he's never looked back (and since then, turns right)! He's also worked inside the industry. He was an advisor and president of a European car aftermarket retailer and advised marketing and technology vendors for various automotive companies. He's done the hands-on work too; engine builds, restorations, drivetrain and suspension upgrades, and exhaust work. Racing photography keeps him close to the sport, and he's still an automotive enthusiast at heart.
