As Mecum Auctions themselves state, the upcoming Mecum Kissimmee auction event is: “The
World’s Largest Collector Car Auction”, and I believe them. The 2026 edition will feature over
4000 cars up for auction, with something for everyone.

That’s the pretty neat thing about Kissimmee. You can go as a spectator and end up buying a
car, for there will be everything for sale from affordable cars which would appeal to the
average buyer (like me), to six and seven figure cars that will grab the attention of the collector
market worldwide. All will be together in Kissimmee, Florida and available to the highest bidder
from January 6-18, 2026.

It will be the perfect place to go and hang out and catch not only the auction action, but take in
the scene at the 60-acre fan named Gearhead Amusement Park – which will feature rides and
attractions all aimed at the car crowd. I can think of no better place to be in January. Any of you
up north – ditch the cold weather and the snow and come to Florida. It is a great place to be in

the winter.

And if you are planning on going to the Rolex 24 at Daytona, heading to Kissimmee is the
perfect stop to get your car juices flowing before heading to the race.
Me, I have always been a huge Ferrari fan and I am looking forward to seeing one of the most
famous Ferrari 250 GTOs of all-time hit the auction block on Saturday, January 17. The “Bianco
Speciale”, which raced in England between 1962 and 1964, with the likes of Roy Salvadori,
Graham Hill, Michael Parkes and Jack Sears as pilots, will be offered for sale.

The car, with its 2953cc/300HP Ferrari V12 engine and five speed gearbox, was the only car
ever delivered from the Ferrari factory to its buyer in white. The car was purchased by John
Coombs and by appealing to the very top people at Ferrari, he was able to convince them to
depart from their usual Ferrari red and deliver his GTO in white. Hence the name: “Bianco
Speciale”. It was very special indeed – this car is one of only 36 250 GTOs ever produced, and
the only one which was white. The fact that it is now going to auction, looking for a new
caretaker of this priceless piece of automotive artwork, makes Kissimmee 2026 a very special
event.

A little history – after the 1964 racing season, the car was sold and went through the ownership
of four different British racers before Jack Sears obtained the car. Cared for over 30 years by
Sears, the car was then sold to former Microsoft COO and President Jon Shirley in 1999. The car
then underwent a restoration and was the star of the show at numerous US vintage racing and
concours events. Will we see a world record Ferrari price realized at Kissimmee? What price can
one put on such priceless artwork?

As the great Graham Hill said back in the day: “I am an artist. The track is my canvas, and the
car is my brush.”

If you want to see and experience the finest art ever produced in the automotive world, you
need to join me at Kissimmee in January. Check out mecum.com for complete information
about the event.
See you there.
